RENO POSTPONED

I emailed the kitchen designer today and wished her a happy Christmas since I will likely not be proceeding with the kitchen renovation in December. You see, it's a little hard to do while out of the country. Needed to run away from home and find some relief. But I didn't quite find it yet even as far as California. So gonna try a couple of other different destinations before I brave the long drive back home to Vancouver.

THE KITCHEN PREVIEW

So in order to understand the scope of the kitchen renovation, it makes sense to see what the current state of the kitchen is. I put together a video (very amateur one) from a video shot I took of the downstairs kitchen on the day we moved in.

What do you think? Doable within $25 grand?

GETTING BACK ON TRACK

So moving into a 5-bedroom/2 kitchen house is not quite as simple as moving into a one-bedroom apartment. But I think I'm almost at the point where my conditions are livable. So now I can get going on trying to adapt to this new environment and living arrangement. Things like learning to walk down stairs to go get breakfast, keeping track of garbage day, watching for snow to make sure our steep driveway is drivable... all new adventures.

There's so much that has happened since my last post concerning the kitchen renovation. So I'm going to have a catch up day today and try to blog as much of it as possible so that we are all up to date.

During these last few days, I started video taping lots of other events in the house, and while I want to stay focused on the kitchen renovation, there's a chance I may not be able to help myself and show you other things that are going on as well in hopes that it brings a smile to your face.

So here we go... stay tuned. It's gonna be one LONG day.
